About Us

Belmak is owned and operated by Michael McKay and was established in 1983 and shortly thereafter became a stud in 1990. Our goals evolved and remains to breed and produce the highest quality of Clydesdale-cross performance horses. We are breeding for confirmation, temperament and ridability: The beautiful splashes of colour is just another bonus!

Belmak is located between Wallan and Kilmore on the rolling hills of Pretty Sally on the Northern Highway. We are located approximately 52km from the Melbourne CDB.

Our history evolved from breeding with 1 black and white Clydesdale cross. From that starting point we have grown to have four beautiful man- nered stallions that can be handled and ridden by a woman, child and men and all are transported together! We have had the opportunity to show case our stallions at function such as our Findon Harriers Hunt Club Annual ball and the 2006 Loreal Melbourne Fashion Show at the Swan Studio.

Over the years our young stock have been sold to riders in pony clubs, adult riding, EFA dressage & showjumping, fox hunting clubs and for also for the general pleasure rider.
